Archipelago Of Monsters
Archipelago Of Monsters was created for the 7 Day Roguelike Challenge 2025.
Downloading is encouraged, and make sure to press / for help!
The archipelago has been overrun by monsters and demons escaped from Tartarus. Take a crew upon the Argo to slay the 3 hydras guarding each gate to Tartarus. Along the way you'll need to feed your crew, find new members, upgrade your weapons, and get powerful gifts from the Gods.
The game is an infinite arcade style classic roguelike with no dungeons, only overland travel. There is a win condition, but for additional challenge, players can simply pick a direction to travel and see how far they can sail.
The entire game can be controlled with the mouse, or numberpad.

Excellent game. If you end up working on it in the future it would be great to see a Linux build if it isn’t too much trouble!
Awesome thank you! I can make a linux build for sure. Assuming my old linux machine still works.
I feel good about this run...
Lol. Yeah... the game doesn't account for that situation. Luckily it is rare haha.
cool game. i appreciate being able to play the entire game with the mouse only, i hate it when i have to remember 20 different keys just to perform basic actions. it definitely feels a little too luck based, and often the enemies out number the amount of stuff u can obtain. i think it could be counteracted by maybe making the crew able to take more hits before dying, too often I'd encounter a sea snake and would come out of it with only one guy. i did like the gifts, as lone spelunker said i wish there was more opportunities to obtain and use them as they're probably the most fun part of the game. i like da atmosphere tho id for sure play the post jam polished version later on
Thanks for playing! Yeah the feedback has been very consistent, so I think I have a good idea of what to change for a post-jam version.
Very cool game. Played quite a bit and never got far – Argonauts and food are far too scarce compared to the prevalence and threat of the enemy creatures.
The "gifts" system is really cool, and satisfying to use when you can. The artemis bow, especially, is fun. I'd like to see even more emphasis on those because you don't really get to use them much, and they are definitely a high point of the game's flavor.
Thanks for playing! Yeah I definitely made it way too hard. Glad the gifts are interesting though!
I'm hoping to make a more balanced post-jam version.
Brutally difficult! I love the whole thing.
Haha I might have made it a bit too difficult for a jam game.
Glad you enjoyed it!
how do you walk on land?
Not certain, but I guess if you find the wings of Hermes, you can fly above land.
That's right. The wings also let you move quickly.
You need to get the Wings of Hermes from a Temple or Ruin. They let you move twice, and fly over land.
