Profession RPG

This RPG is super dumb and written in an hour or so. I don't know, I didn't keep track of time.

Basically its Free Kriegsspiel. Just try to figure out what would logically make sense and estimate a probability. Using only a D6 keeps the probabilities easier to invent. Having it all based on a profession gives a good starting point. I figure some situations are entirely luck based, which is why there is a luck stat.

The basic concept of this came from playing Dungeon Crawl Classics. I really liked the idea of having skills logically based on your profession, and the luck stat is from there too.

No idea if this game works, but it was fun to make.

Profession

An RPG by Jacob Marks that is stupidly written (almost) entirely within the borders of the page.

Your Profession and your Luck are all you have. You want to do something? Generally you roll one cubic 6 sided dice with little numbers on it. Did you roll greater than 3? Good! You succeeded. Would somebody with your Profession be good at this thing? Now you only need to roll higher than a 2! Maybe you’d be bad at it though; In that case you’d have to roll your little 6 sided cube higher than a 4 in order to do your thing. You gettin’ it now? Having the right item for the job can also make your roll easier. Or maybe the task is so far outside of your wheelhouse that you’ll have to do a harder roll to make it. Make it up as you go.

Last thing. Your Luck starts at 5. If ever you need to do something decided by fate, you have to roll under your Luck and lower it by 1. The GM will give you more soon.

Basic fantasy: 1. Fighter, 2. Cleric, 3. Wizard, 4. Thief, 5. Ranger, 6. Bard.

Science fiction: 1. Pilot, 2. Scientist, 3. Marine, 4. Android, 5. Drifter, 6. Merchant.

Post apocalypse: 1. Mutant, 2. Cyborg, 3. Manimal, 4. Truekin, 5. Psychic, 6. Machine overlord.

Mythos investigation: 1. Private eye, 2. Bodyguard, 3. Clergy, 4. Journalist, 5. Professor, 6. Occultist.
